About Solar
Solar has always been a leading provider of heat and energy on this planet, and recently technology has allowed us to easily and affordably convert solar radiation into electricity to power our homes. Solar panels have increased in efficiency and power output and decreased in size and cost. Recent developments in public policy, pollution control and preparing for the depletion of fossil fuels have sparked several government incentive programs to make putting solar into your home a smart easy a right choice for you.

Several homes will even qualify for 20 year fixed rates at or below current electric rates, and if you are a savvy investor and know how the electricity market works you could even be getting free electricity for the rest of your life.

All states offer different solar incentives and programs so it is best to consult with one of our sponsor solar experts to provide you with an exact quote and what they have to offer. Many programs allow you to go solar for zero money down and free installation while keeping a low fixed electricity rate and reducing you dependency on carbon fossil fuels.

Net Metering
Ok So we all dream about being our own independent island and removing ourselves from the grid, Never needing help from the power company, never having to pay their bills, and never having to worry about price hikes. Sounds Great, and it may come true, But for now. They provide the power we need to live the life we like. So rather than fight the power company it might be better to work with them, They have shown that they are willing to work with us. So for a quick introduction let me explain what the power company does. They purchase power from power plants. Then the deliver it to our houses.

The power company is the company that DELIVERS the electricity. They can buy it from many sources, Wind turbines, solar farms, Hydro electric dams, coal furnaces, nuclear power plats, and probably some other sources too. They then Charge you for the amount of electricity that runs through your meter into your house. The bill is usually broken down into purchase fees and delivery fees.

Net metering allows your meter to run BACKWARDS. So the solar electricity that your home solar facility produces will reduce your bill by the amount of electricity it creates. A typical home solar facility will provide 50 - 75% of your electricity needs. You will need to check with your electricity provider to confirm their net metering policies.

Installation
Installation of home solar panels has become inexpensive convenient and fast. Many systems can be installed in about 3 days. Installation companies handle all the zoning, permits and electric company hookups. There are 2 main ways to install solar panels, Roof Mount and Ground mount.

Roof Mount
If you have a strong roof that faces near to south and is not in the shade than that is a good option. The panels provide shade to keep your house cooler, They protect the roof from the elements and they are safely mounted. A typical house can provide enough room for 20 to 20 solar panels.

Ground Mount
If you have enough land to put up a ground mount home solar system you can erase the worries you may have of putting a system on your house. A ground mount approach also gives you the ability to face your solar panels due south for maximum efficiency and power.

Free Electricity
Many states have created policies that create the ability to get free electricity. This involves a program to encourage the power companies to use renewable energy resources to prepare for the eventual depletion of convenient and cheap fossil fuels. As fossil and other fuels become more difficult to extract and harder to find they will become more expensive to purchase. In order to help reduce the price of power and electricity over the next years many states have established incentive plans to motivate the industry to create inexpensive and renewable power. It will simply be less expensive to go green be clean and stay safe than to search, extract and dispose of other fuels.

As a solar pioneer and investor you may have the ability to benefit from the credits and programs established to receive free electricity. Please consult with a solar company soon to see if you are in a position to receive inexpensive or free electricity. As an added bonus you will know your home is powered by the latest technology using renewable energy resources without any pollution or waste.

SREC (Solar Renewable Energy Certificates)
Renewable energy certificates have been around for a while and you are probably familiar with some company that claims to offset their carbon foot print by buying energy credits. When a company buys energy credits they are actively investing in the future of clean renewable energy.

Some states have gone further buy requiring the power companies to supply a certain percentage of their power in solar technology. This helps prevent them from being lazy and staying with the cheap dirty fuels. So if the power company does not meet their quota of solar electric power they must pay a tax. This is how your home solar facility can become free to you.

The power companies would not like to pay their shortage fee and therefore would rather pay you for your clean renewable energy. The power company can buy the certificates from you in order to meet their quota. Their are several solar investment companies that will arrange an agreement with you to pay you for your solar production certificates to help your local community convert to clean and renewable energy. Each state has different policies so please contact a local solar installer for details on how you can start saving now.

Getting Started
Home solar electric facilities are available in a wide variety of options. You can purchase outright, you can finance with you our lending facility, and many companies will lease you a system.

Purchase
To purchase a system you should shop around and see who is offering the best product for your needs at the best price. You will also need to hire an installer and an electrician to hook up you power to your house. You will also have to talk to the installers about how to work an agreement with your local power company. If you purchase you will want to figure out your best financing options

Lease
A typical solar system lease is for 20 years and the leasing company will usually offer outstanding benefits. For example some offer free installation and hookup, free maintenance and monitoring and a fixed cost for your electricity generated from the solar panels. This is a simple way to lock in your electric rates for 20 years at a fixed price. They often offer buy out options throughout the term of the lease as well
